We saw lots of fun animals like lions, tigers and hippopotamus. Glammy asked each of us what our favorite thing was at the Zoo, so we could for sure do that. Here is what we picked!
I just love the Giraffes! They are my favorite. This time I got to FEED A GIRAFFE! It was so awesome. It’s tongue was super long!
Yes! That’s right. I said snakes! I think snakes are super cool. This snake wanted to have a staring contest. He didn’t know who he was up against! I wouldn’t look away, so he finally gave up. I won!
Yeah, I like the animals and all, but my favorite is the treats! Yum! Yum!
All too soon our day was over, and it was time to leave. So, we said goodbye to the animals … until the next time!
Sure, we all WANT to get good grades, but we know it isn’t always easy! Sometimes it’s hard to get all the homework done. And while we’re talking about homework … have you seen “Just Giselle’s – Homework Routine – Sis Vs Bro – School Study Tips Comedy Skit Sketch?” If you haven’t seen it yet be sure to watch it to see the difference between how girls and boys do homework. It’s super funny!
Here are 6 tips to help you get good grades!
Color code what you do. When you use different colors, it helps your brain remember! Use a highlighter, colored pencils and pens. Use bright post it notes for making notes in your textbooks.
Don’t leave your papers everywhere. Because you’ll have a panic attack when you can’t find your homework! Have dividers for each subject. Dividers are your friend!
Start big assignments right away, so you’re not STRESSED OUT when it’s due!
Get phone numbers of friends in your classes. You can text or call them if you have a question or miss school and don’t know the assignments.
If you study non stop for a long time, your brain gets foggy. So, take a short 10-15 minute break. Walk around the block – have a snack – watch a GEM Sisters Video!
Anytime you have a break from school, like Holidays, Fall Break, or Spring Break, or any other days off, study and get ahead in your assignments. Don’t study the whole time of course. You still want to enjoy your time away from school!
GEMS: We hope these study tips help you get great grades this year.
Be sure and take our poll tomorrow on “How Do You Do Your Homework!”

Actually, we’re talking about fingernails, not toenails! But Mercedes was really funny chewing her toenails in the Disgusting Habits Video. If you haven’t seen that one, you definitely need to check it out!
Fingernail biting (as opposed to toe-nail biting) is a common problem.
In fact Giselle used to bite her nails! You may think there’s nothing you can do to stop. But we have 5 tips that can help you break the habit just like Giselle did!
You might be able to break the habit if you keep them short for a while. If there’s nothing to bite you’ll get out of the habit of chewing them!
If you have your nails painted, and you love how they look, that just might stop you from chewing. You won’t want to ruin your manicure!
They make bad tasting nail polish just for this problem! Get some bitter nail polish and paint your nails with it. It tastes gross, so you won’t WANT to chew your nails!
Find something else to do to keep your hands busy. If your fingers are doing something else, you’ll be less likely to want to chew your nails. There’s lots of things you could do!
Ask your parents for help. They might be willing to give you a reward to help you break the habit. You could work the details out with your parents, but here’s an example of how that could work.
1 Week: No nail chewing – you get out of one chore that week.
2 Weeks: You get to stay up a half hour extra one night.
3 Weeks: You get to have some new nail polish or nail art supplies.
4 Weeks: You’ve made it a whole month with no nail chewing! That’s huge. By this time you should be enjoying those nails! That alone is a big reward. But maybe your parents will want to reward you even more with something like a toy or a book – maybe even the new GEM Sisters book Pup Napped!
GEMS: If you’re trying to break the nail biting habit, we hope these ideas help! All three of us love to have our nails looking pretty. It’s just fun! Here’s a picture of Mercedes nails. Don’t they look cute?
GEMS: Let us know in the comments if you like to paint your nails!
XOXO: Giselle, Evangeline, and Mercedes!

Smiles are infectious! You share a smile with someone, and they feel good, and pass that smile on to someone else. When we are kind to someone, it not only makes them feel good, it makes us feel better too! Here are 10 ways to be kind to others. Let’s all pick some things from this list, and see if we can spread a smile this week!
You never know, it might be the only smile they get that day! Be Friendly! Introduce yourself to someone at school that you don’t know. Strike up a conversation with them. Be excited to hear what they have to say!
There are lots of girls and boys that don’t have money for nice clothes to wear to school. Just think how that would make them smile to have a new cute outfit. They would love to have some of the nice things that are too small for you now. You can donate your gently used clothes to charity, or give them to someone you know that would love to have them!
Make Get Well Cards for anyone who is sick. This will cheer them up and make them feel better to know that someone is thinking of them.
