Donât leave your papers everywhere. Because youâll have a panic attack when you canât find your homework! Have dividers for each subject. Dividers are your friend!
Start big assignments right away, so youâre not STRESSED OUT when itâs due!
Get phone numbers of friends in your classes. You can text or call them if you have a question or miss school and donât know the assignments.
If you study non stop for a long time, your brain gets foggy. So, take a short 10-15 minute break. Walk around the block – have a snack – watch a GEM Sisters Video!
Anytime you have a break from school, like Holidays, Fall Break, or Spring Break, or any other days off, study and get ahead in your assignments. Donât study the whole time of course. You still want to enjoy your time away from school!

Smiles are infectious! You share a smile with someone, and they feel good, and pass that smile on to someone else. When we are kind to someone, it not only makes them feel good, it makes us feel better too! Here are 10 ways to be kind to others. Letâs all pick some things from this list, and see if we can spread a smile this week!
You never know, it might be the only smile they get that day! Â Be Friendly! Introduce yourself to someone at school that you donât know. Strike up a conversation with them. Be excited to hear what they have to say!
There are lots of girls and boys that donât have money for nice clothes to wear to school. Just think how that would make them smile to have a new cute outfit. They would love to have some of the nice things that are too small for you now. You can donate your gently used clothes to charity, or give them to someone you know that would love to have them!
Make Get Well Cards for anyone who is sick. This will cheer them up and make them feel better to know that someone is thinking of them.
Get your homework done early! Start working on it as soon as you get home from school. Then when you’re finished with it you can enjoy the rest of your evening and not be stressed out!
Go to your school’s sporting events, concerts, and plays. You’ll have fun, run into your friends and maybe even make some new ones!
The weather is nice, and Itâs a great time to play outside, so here are 6 fun outside things to do to bust that boredom!
We love to go to our park playground. We climb, swing, play, and have lots of fun! We bet you love to do that too. If you go to the park, make sure you bring water to drink. You could even pack a lunch to eat in the park.
Have you played tag lately? If youâre not sure of the rules, itâs super easy to play. First choose one person to be “it”. Then “it” runs around chasing the others players. Â When “it” tags (touches) another player then the tagged player becomes “it”. Â The person who is “it” constantly changes, which makes the game move super fast and fun. Youâre usually not sure who is âitâ which is a huge part of the fun!
Summer is a great time to ride your bike or scooter. Make sure you find a safe place to ride, like the sidewalk, a park, or a walking track. Donât forget your helmet!

Hey GEMS! Weâll all be spending more time playing outside and being active now that school is out. Since itâs hotter in the summer itâs important that we all drink plenty of water. We want to stay healthy so we can have lots of fun this summer, so weâve come up with 5 tips for how to drink enough water.
But first if youâre not convinced you should be drinking water, here are a few fun facts for those of you who need to know why!
Our body is made up of 60% to 70% water. Now thatâs a LOT of water! That alone should make all of us see how important it is to drink water! Our body uses water in so many ways. Itâs needed for our muscles and joints to move, for our brain to think, for our stomach to digest food, and to keep our body from getting too hot or too cold. Water even effects if we are in a good or bad mood!
So, hereâs our 5 tips on how to get enough water this summer!
Get a colorful cup, with a fun straw. Thatâs way more fun than a plain glass, or a clear plastic water bottle, and youâll always know which water is yours! Why not buy two? You can leave one at home, and take the other one with you when you go outside to play or go to the pool. Is super important to drink water when youâre active.
Put slices of lemon, lime, cucumber, or mint leaves in your water. It gives it a nice light natural taste.
Tip from Giselle:
We have lemon trees and also mint growing in our back yard. I love to put 4-5 mint leaves or a lemon slice in a glass of ice water. Sometimes I make a whole pitcher of mint water or lemon water and keep it in the fridge for everyone to enjoy. It tastes even better when it sits in the fridge for a while.
Hey GEMS! Thereâs all kinds of fun things we want to do this summer, and we just realized weâre going to need some money! We figured you probably do too, so we came up with six ideas for how to earn $$ this summer. Make sure you ask your parents for permission before you try any of these. You might want to do these jobs with a friend and split the money. Thatâs even more fun!
Set up a table and chair in your yard by the street. Make a sign that says lemonade $1.00 (or whatever price you choose). Make some lemonade. You could also make iced tea. Youâll need some disposable cups and a cooler of ice. Sit by your lemonade stand.
As cars in your neighborhood drive by, hold up your sign. Jump up and down and wave at them to get their attention. If you can get them to stop, they wonât be able to say no to an iced cold drink!
Offer to walk their dog for neighbors, friends, or family. Â This is a pretty easy job, and fun, except for one thing.
Make sure and take two or three doggie bags with you because if the dog does itâs business, you have to pick it up. Ewww!
Show your report card to your parents, grandparents, and aunts and uncles. You never know, they might pay for good grades.
Don’t forget your grandparents. Our grandparents pay way better than our mom and dad!
Hey GEMS: The day weâve been waiting for is almost here … the last day of school! We are so excited, and we bet you are too. Itâs such a special day we think we should celebrate. Do you have something planned? Most schools have a half day, so youâll have LOTS of time for something fun! Â Here are five ideas we came up with.
Bring Cupcakes to school and share them with your class. All your friends and your teacher will enjoy a treat to celebrate.
Ask your parents if they will take you to meet your friends at the theater. A Movie after school would be lots of fun.
Maybe you could meet your friends for pizza after school!
