Dear Parents,
We are writing this letter to you to address the news stories surrounding kids’ safety on YouTube. We want you to know that we are just as upset as you are. We are parents first. We take the safety of our daughters (GEM Sisters) and their fans very seriously. We monitor comments on all of our platforms and work very hard to be a safe brand for everyone.

On top of that, we have consistently followed all industry-standard guidelines for minors as creators. Put simply, we only make family-friendly content. The internet is an evolving place and companies are scrambling to find ways to keep kids safer.
We are working directly with several organizations on this issue, and we are committed to finding the best solution for our children. However all of these discussions are about the future, and we want to take immediate action.
We are exploring additional platforms for GEM Sisters’ content so parents who wish to monitor their child’s viewing habits have more control. We are also working on other outlets for GEM Sisters such as more books, more music, additional website content, moving into television and movies, and possibly a GEM Sisters app.
We ask for your feedback. We are currently adding our video library to Amazon Prime as well as getting our own GEM Sisters’ Roku/Amazon Fire/Apple TV channel. Can you contact us about which of these platforms would work best for your household? Or click here for our poll.
Let’s all work together as parents supporting parents to make the Internet safe for our children.
Standing with you,
MeLisa Lomelino and Ryun Hovind
Mama GEM and Papa GEM
